Hunan Giant Machine Tool Co., Ltd.: How to Improve the Maintenance Efficiency of CNC Machine Tools

According to statistics of China's CNC machine tools in 2019, it is found that China's machine tool industry has a smaller scale than Japan, accounting for approximately 31.5% of the global share. East China is the main production area. With the modular development of CNC machine tools, CNC machining equipment has the characteristics of flexibility. The control system can logically process a program with control codes or other symbolic instructions, decode it, and express it with coded numbers and input it into the numerical control device through an information carrier. Did you know that most of its failures are caused by software errors? After confirming that the software is fault-free, a lot of trouble can be saved without dismantling the mechanical parts of the machine tool and maintenance efficiency can be improved.

1)When cutting, the machined surface has ripples.

It means that the main shaft is loose and poorly lubricated, causing bearing wear. Adjust the front and rear nuts of the spindle, and adjust the spindle radial runout and axial runout values within 0.01. 

2)The machine tool does not work according to the program, and the size has the phenomenon of pulse loss, which causes resetting, inaccurate positioning, and unqualified processed parts.

Reason: The connection between the tool post and the middle slide plate is loose, and the connection between the guide rail and the middle slide plate is loose; the wear gap between the guide rail and the slide plate is increased, and the gap between the screw rod and the driven gear connection key in the reduction gearbox is large. The guide rail must be scraped and the driven gear connecting key must be replaced. (If the gap is not too large, it can be solved by adjusting the host control gap compensation data)

3)The long-term operation of the machine tool will cause uneven wear of the screw rod, causing jamming or vibration.

Replace the worn screw rod or replace it with a ball screw nut pair, which is beneficial to improve the positioning accuracy of the machine tool and prolong the service life of the stepping motor.

4)During processing, the repeat positioning accuracy is poor.

First, check whether the damper in the back cover of the stepper motor is too loose, and then check whether the connection between the stepper motor and the screw rod is loose, or whether the screw rod has axial movement.

5)The feed of the machine tool is running unevenly, the size deviation is too large, and there is a phenomenon of lost steps after reversing.

Check whether the taper pin at the junction of the stepping motor and the driving gear is loose or twisted.
